<b> Agro Industrial Lazzeri S.A </b>. is based in Vacaria, in the state of Rio Grande do Sul (RS). It started its fruitgrowing activity in 1983 with orchards in a region called Refugiado. Nowadays it owns a planted area of <b> 470 hectares for apple growing </b> with trees distributed in two zones of this property. It also has a storage area with a refrigerating capacity of 11,500 tons and sells both on the home market and abroad (mainly Europe). As regards nurseries, it has a surface area of 25 ha yearly, where it produces preformed apple trees of several varieties: <b> Fuji select, Brasilgala®, Imperial Gala, Catarina and, more recently, Brookfield® (‘Baigent’). </b><br>They basically work with M9 rootstock, Maruba with filter and others on request. <br><br>A modern, efficient organization. The Lazzeri agricultural group, led by its managing director Valentino Lazzeri, comprises the two divisions, <b> Lazzeri Floriculture Division </b>, which supply young plants for the floricultural - nursery industry, and <b>Lazzeri apple </b>, which produces apples and fruit trees for the international market.
