Polyester resins with acid functional groups are used inpolyester powder coatings. Different hardeners are used depending on application area such as TGlChy-droxyalkylamide or glycidyl ester.
Polyester powder coatings are resistant to UV radiation. They are preferred in exterior application because of these properties. Super durable polyester powder coatings are 2-3 times more resistant to UV radiation than normal polyesters. They are used especially at architectural aluminium extrusions, agricultural machines and automobile parts. Polyesters could be cured in 160-240 'C temperature range. They have very good mechanical and chemical resistance. Yellowing resistance of polyester powder coatings is better than epoxy systems. Resin and pigments used are not decomposed in high temperatures. They are also used in interior applications such as hot goods (oven, electricheater).
