EN590 describes the standards of physical properties (described by ISO) that Ultra Low Sulphur Diesel must have for the European Union, Croatia, Iceland, Norway and Switzerland.

The EN590 according to the ISO emission standards described by the European emission regulations, is considered an "Ultra Low Sulphur Diesel" and its quality is specified in the EN 590 standard (Sulfur: 0.001 MAX). While these specifications are not mandatory, they are observed by all fuel suppliers in Europe.
