COMMODITY SCRAP HMS 1 AND 2
It is the designation for recyclable steel and wrought iron. HMS means 'heavy melting scrap'. HMS 2 contains galvanized and blackened steel, while HMS 1 is "heavy scrap fusion". It is the generic term for most types of heavy steel scrap,usually with cut to a size not exceeding 1.5m x 0.5m. These are the cutting lengths of tubes, bars again, angles, steel poles, H-beams or ship plates and so on. HMS 1 is the term for heavy scrap that has a density of at least 0.7 tons per cubic meter, while HMS 2 would be lighter steel scrap such as thin wall tubes (e.g. bicycle frames), leaf waste less than 3.2 mm thick and so on.
