The Black Pepper from Espirito Santo state - Brazil has been consolidated as an option of agricultural diversification in the northern region of Espírito Santo and has reached space in the international market becoming a prominent product in the generation of foreign exchange in the Capixaba agribusiness.

The state of Espírito Santo is the second largest national producer and exporter. The activity is typically familiar in rural properties and the plantations, mostly irrigated, are concentrated in the north of the state, highlighting the municipality of São Mateus-the largest producer in the country.

The northern region of the state of Espírito Santo is a traditional pole of production of pepper-of-the-kingdom, where there are conditions of climate and soil favorable to cultivation. It is a typical culture of hot and humid climate, with average temperature between 23 º C and 38 º C and relative humidity between 70% and 88%, developing well at altitudes up to 500 meters.
