Description
The Single-Wave Advantage of LED UV Curing Lamps: Wavelength is crucial in LED UV curing, and different wavelengths have different applications. Let's understand the role of wavelength in LED UV curing lamps. LED UV is a single-wavelength invisible light, generally below 405nm, mainly 365nm and 395nm. The short wavelength of 365nm works at deeper layers, while the long wavelength of 395nm works on the surface of inks or coatings. This is because short wavelengths are absorbed at the surface and cannot reach deeper layers. Insufficient short-wavelength exposure leads to a sticky surface. Insufficient long-wavelength energy leads to poor adhesion. When curing UV inks and UV adhesives, a pure wavelength light source is provided, with specific wavelength absorption peaks matching specific curing requirements. Energy is concentrated on the effective wavelength, ensuring precise curing and minimizing waste. Traditional mercury lamps emit energy in both wavelength ranges, resulting in mixed wavelengths. While the energy emitted in the short wavelength range is strong, a large amount of long-wavelength energy is not used for curing, with only a small portion of the relevant wavelengths being effective, leading to high energy consumption. This is unacceptable in today's energy-saving and environmentally friendly world. Many highly specialized applications, such as curing materials containing large amounts of titanium dioxide as a pigment additive, or curing through plastics or glass, require long-wavelength curing because these materials almost completely block short-wavelength light. Therefore, such curing applications necessitate the use of a pure wavelength light source, such as an LED UV light source.
