LEADERSHIP IN INDUSTRIAL PACKAGING TECHNOLOGY SINCE 1951

Since 1951, PACKAGING SYSTEMS INTERNATIONAL, INC. has grown and expanded to become a major, worldwide supplier of industrial packaging technology.

As the firm has grown, it has operated under several different names; yet, throughout, it has been guided by a single goal: to provide or develop the optimum equipment necessary for modern packaging and material handling.

The company was started in 1951 as The Power Curve Conveyor Company, manufacturing flexible spring belt conveyors. By 1967, the company introduced a line of palletizers and related conveying equipment for multiwall paper bags.

In 1973, the company acquired H.L. Stoker Company and the Weighing and Packaging Systems Company. The name was changed to reflect the full capabilities to WPM Systems, Inc. The Stoker operation added products for filling and placing valve bags. Weighing and Packaging Systems added net weigh fillers for open-mouth bags and rigid containers.

In 1978, WPM Systems was acquired by the St. Regis Paper Company and became the WPM Division of St. Regis. As a result of a St. Regis joint venture, the name was changed to the current name of PACKAGING SYSTEMS INTERNATIONAL, INC.

In 1983, PACKAGING SYSTEMS INTERNATIONAL was repurchased from St. Regis and by 1984 was owned by a group of its operating managers.

In 1998, Binder + CO AG, a leading Austrian manufacturer of automatic open-mouth bag filling systems and vertical form/fill/seal equipment, acquired a majority of the stock in PACKAGING SYSTEMS INTERNATIONAL. This acquisition added complete, automatic, industrial packaging capabilities as well as global marketing of all products.
