Description
1,4-butene glycol is a colorless liquid at room temperature and pressure, soluble in water and most organic solvents. It is a polar molecule in which two hydroxyl functional groups interact with water molecules to form hydrogen bonds. 1,4-butene glycol can undergo many organic reactions, such as esterification, etherification, alkylation, and oxidation. In addition, it can also participate in polymerization reactions as a monomer to prepare polymer materials such as polyester.
