Located in Guarapuava, in the Midwest of Parana, Santa Maria stands out as a major business group, operating in the areas of paper, wood, forestry and energy.
The group began operations in 1962 serving the domestic timber market with the name of Santa Maria Wood. In the 70s, as a constant evolution, migrated to the production of paper, in 1974, began operating the first machine to produce paper, and a hydroelectric plant, needed to produce energy to meet the production process.
At the end of 1982 with the installation of a second machine, there was expansion of piece of paper. Since 1993, there was a diversification of activities, with the production of continuous forms. It also invested in building a modern sawmill and wood processing, production for export.
today the Santa Maria meets the most demanding markets for paper and wood benefit. The group is consolidated and respected throughout Brazil and overseas.
In addition, through reforestation and research in their forests, produces seeds and seedlings of high quality, excellent raw material for its intended uses.
Invests heavily in developing self-sustaining. All wood waste generated in the production process is converted into energy, a rational utilization of the entire production process.
